Clean the bonding area thoroughly using a 50:50 Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and water solution. For heavy oils, silicates, or oxidized residues, apply an abrasive pad followed by a final solvent wipe with a lint-free cloth. Ensure the surface is 100% dry before applying the tape.
When bonding low surface energy (LSE) materials such as polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), EPDM rubber, or powder-coated metals, apply an acrylic primer to increase surface free energy, fostering molecular cross-linking between the tape core and substrate.
Acrylic adhesive is pressure-sensitive. Apply a firm roller pressure (at least 15 psi / 100 kPa) across the tape strip to ensure full intimate contact and wet-out. Initial tack provides immediate sealing, reaching 50% bond strength in 20 min, 90% in 24 hr, and 100% after 72 hr.
